On Wednesday 1st December our newly commissioned pulpit was installed in the Church. It has been designed and built by Galloway Granite in Sorbie near Newton Stewart. They sourced a very good match of Creetown Granite (see pic above) so that the new pulpit would match the existing altar not only in style but also in the material used.
The new pulpit has been commissioned by the parish community in

The course took place in St Mary’s Retreat Centre in Kinnoull, Perth. The next stage in his journey is in the autumn when Willie will be received by the Bishop as an official candidate for Ordination as a Permanent Deacon, this is called “Candidature”. This means that notwithstanding death, illness or any other serious reason, Willie will be ordained as a deacon sometime in 2011. Please keep him in your prayers as he embarks on this final year of preparation. _______________________________________________________________ ![]() GOOD LUCK TO OUR PRIMARY 7 LEAVERS We send our very warm greetings to the 11 graduates from St Teresa’s Primary School and wish them every blessing in their secondary school careers. You can see here the happy seniors in their last photo in St Teresa’s. We also congratulate young Matthew Murray from the group who is the first pupil in the school to receive the newly commissioned Canon John Walls Memorial Cup. This will be an annual award instituted by the Parent Council in memory of our late parish priest and it will be awarded to the pupil who has shown outstanding example and support to the school community. ________________________________________________________________ SONGS OF PRAISE
Sunday 6th June was a happy day for the children and staff of our parish primary school as they led the parish in a "Songs of Praise". in the church. The picture above shows Miss Blount, the headteacher, class teachers and assistants with Fr Jim and the children who chose, introduced, sang and performed the actions of their favourite hymns from their weekly school hymn practice. The afternoon was supported very well by the mums, dads, grannies, grandpa's and parishioners who thoroughly enjoyed the enthusiasm shown by the children. Well done boys and girls for a great afternoon! A sincere thank you to Mrs Blount our organist and of course to all the staff in the school for their great support too. Afterwards, thanks to the Ladies Guild and friends (thanks guys!), we all enjoyed a BBQ, icecream, drinks and sweets. We had a great afternoon and we didn't let the rain ruin our day! ![]() ........
